Hidden Valley Campground

Rules, Policy, and Camping Information

Hidden Valley Campground is a small, family operated facility. We attempt to provide our guests with a neat, clean place to call home while visiting the Black Hills. The following are a few necessary guidelines. To serve the interests of our campground as a whole, these policies are strictly enforced. We reserve the right to evict anyone violating these rules, destroying property, or otherwise creating a disturbance. No refund will be given in such event. This property being privately owned and operated, management reserves the right to refuse services to anyone and will not be responsible for accidents or injury to guests.

• Check-in time is 2:00 PM Mountain Time. Check in should be no later than 7:00 PM.

• Check out time is 10:00 AM Mountain Time.

• Quiet hours are 10:00 PM - 7:00 AM. During that time there shall be no loud talking, radios, TV or other noise that can disturb other campers.

• It is against the state law to discharge any waste, septic or gray water onto the surface of the ground.

• We are located in the Black Hills Fire Protection District. South Dakota Law states, "No open fires are permitted except in fire rings provided. No open fires may be left unattended". Moving the fire rings is prohibited. Campfires must be fully extinguished when not attended.

• Fires in the Black Hills are a serious concern. Please be careful!

• Wood for campfires should not be brought from out-of- state due to Forestry Service concerns about bugs & diseases.

• Trash should be placed in one of the trash containers located around the grounds. Littering is prohibited (including cigarette buttes). Please thoroughly extinguish cigarettes, wet the butts with water and dispose of in trash, or place in cigarette ash receptacles located at various locations in the campground.

• Alcoholic Beverages – The South Dakota drinking age is 21. No underage drinking is allowed.

• Firearms, fireworks or explosives of any kind are prohibited.

• Emergency Messages will be delivered to your campsite. All other messages will be posted on the bulletin board located just outside the store door. A free telephone is located outside the Store for your use in making local calls, & credit card calls. Phone cards are available for sale in the Store.

• Shower houses are open 24 hours a day except for cleaning closures. We ask that you let us know if they are in need of supplies or attention. We have tried to provide quality facilities. We will appreciate your help in keeping the bathhouses clean and preserved. Please clean up after yourself and your children. Please be sensitive to the needs of other campers when using the shower facilities. If there are people waiting to use the showers, please keep your shower short. By keeping showers short, fresh water conservation is also appreciated.

• Please observe the 5 MPH speed limit.

• No generators allowed.

• Pets are welcome but must be on a leash, and cannot be left in or at the unit if you are gone. Pets are not allowed in buildings. A pet run is not available so PLEASE clean up after them. Pet Litter pick-up bags are available at the store. Please No Barking dogs! Pets are subject to the same camp quiet hours as humans. Guests will be responsible for any damage or harm caused by their pets.

• Children – All small children must be under parental supervision at all times. Kids (and adults) are welcome to play in the two creeks and playground.

• Store hours are 8:00AM - 8:30PM. Various items can be purchased for your camping needs including beer, soda, coffee, candy, meats, ice cream, ice, gifts, etc.

• Wood is available for purchase at the store and can be delivered to your site.

• Laundry facilities open 11AM – 4PM. Laundry soap is available in the store.

• Game Room contains video games, pool table, reading books, refrigerator, microwave, sink, etc. Guests are welcome to use these facilities as well as the tables located outside. Please help keep these facilities clean & don’t leave food in the refrigerator when leaving the camp. Please return books after use or if not finished an exchange of books is welcomed (take a book/leave a book).

• Volleyballs & basketballs are available in the game room at no charge. We just ask that you return them when you are done. Please confine recreational activities, such as basketball, to the hours between 8AM to 9PM.

• Left items in showers or laundry will be kept for 2 days then discarded.

• CAMP AT YOUR OWN RISK – Management assumes no responsibility for property loss or damage.

• Sites – The campground has final decision in campsite assignment and reserves the right to change site assignments at any time.
